Annual Report 2017-2018

Being Believing Becoming

A Very Good Evening to everyone! Tonight is one of the most important nights of our seminary and it is my pleasure to be here for the second time as the rector of the minor seminary. At the outset I would like to acknowledge all the seminarians who have worked behind this event, congratulations to all of you and be proud of your achievements. Nirmal Hriday Minor Seminary which is being run under the aegis of The Exarchate of St Ephrem celebrates its successful completion of the second academic year.  The Annual Report showcases the achievements and glories of our seminary undoubtedly, but also makes us think deeply about our shortcomings. We have always been committed to create an environment in the seminary which helps the seminarians’ minds to blossom and provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of the their personality towards priesthood. We set standards and goals for ourselves and strive to achieve them – be it in the area of spirituality, evangelization, academics, sports, discipline, leadership and more.

Academics

Classes

The philosophy of the seminary of one generation will be the philosophy of the church in the next. I wish to begin with our performance on the academic front. Achieving academic excellence is at the heart of our endeavour as formators . The academic year of 2017-18 was inaugurated by Our Aboon on 8th June 2017 by declaring the theme, “ Being, Beleiving and Becoming.” Excellence in academics is the hallmark of any good institution. We were assisted in our academic endeavors by numerous persons whom I must thank  individually. We were helped by :-

  1. Mrs Mell Perera

  2. Fr Samuel Thoppil –Church History, Catechism, Council Documents

“The quality of your thinking, determines the quality of your mind.” A better education indeed fine tunes our thinking. I take this time to extend our cordial gratitude towards those who helped in fulfilling the educational needs of the seminarians.  Thank you all.
